Located in the vibrant Repubblica district in the heart of Milan, this 55 sqm apartment was in a poor state of repair when the owner approached us. The brief was to reimagine the space for contemporary living compact, efficient, and elegant.
Despite the straightforward original layout, the apartment lacked functionality. Spatial reconfiguration was limited by the fixed position of existing windows, which restricted flexibility. Our approach centered around a custom-designed system of joinery that not only maximized storage but also introduced layered functionality and spatial clarity.
A key intervention was the insertion of a glass partition to define the sleeping area while preserving openness and natural light. The kitchen and bathroom were fully updated with refined finishes and clean detailing, aligning the space with the needs of modern urban life.
The result is a compact yet highly functional apartment that offers comfort and practicality within the dense fabric of Milan’s city center
